One thing we all do is eat. And, while I can’t speak for everyone, I will say most people I know – myself included – get especially excited to know what’s going on in the local food scene.

Whether it’s eating everything you can at Taste of Acadiana, exploring where to try a viral trend or seeing an influencer rave about the hole in the wall you’ve been going to for years, we all have an opinion on food.

Aug. 5: New Experience at Tsunami Sushi

Tsunami Sushi of Lafayette posted a teaser on Facebook sharing a new dining experience coming to the restaurant. The first Facebook teaser was posted on July 29. Since then, Tsunami has continued to keep customers on their toes via Facebook for the start of a new dining experience featuring:

• Sumo Steak
• Hands-on sushi classes
• Omakase dinner

Aug. 16: New Bagel Concept Reveals Location

Bagels Lafayette, a new concept boasting house-made dough and real-fruit smoothies, revealed the location of its future shop: 111 Stonemont Rd. in River Ranch. The Bagels Lafayette founders are:

• Caroline of Caroline’s Cookies
• Reece, Caroline’s brother who helped start Caroline’s Cookies
• Ashlyn, also a key team member at Caroline’s Cookies

Aug. 20: Five Mile Eatery Joins Eat Fit

Food influencer Cory Ledoux (@ledouxitt, Instagram) posted a video in collaboration with Eat Fit Ochsner and Five Meal Eatery announcing the restaurant’s new partnership with Eat Fit. Ledoux shares that Five Mile is one of his favorite restaurants and has “food made with locally-grown ingredients, sourced by the nearby farms.”

Aug. 22: Nube 9 Coffee’s New Syrup and Collab

Nube 9 Coffee celebrated with Cocodrie Collective for the grand opening of its second location on Aug. 22. Nube 9 announced it would be fueling participants at the Cocodrie Collective in a Facebook post while also sharing a new syrup flavor: Toasted Marshmallow.

Aug. 29: Una Coffe Rave at Rêve Coffe Lab

Rêve Coffee will host a rave from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with Una, a community of EDM lovers. According to the announcement reel, the rave at Rêve is free and open to everyone.
