One thing we all do is eat. And while I can’t speak for everyone, I will say most people I know – myself included – get especially excited to know what’s going on in the local food scene.
Whether it’s eating everything you can at Taste of Acadiana, exploring where to try a viral trend or seeing an influencer rave about the hole-in-the-wall you’ve been going to for years, we all have an opinion on food.

Acadiana Bites of September
Bagels Lafayette: Local Partnership + Demolition
Last month, Bagels Lafayette, a new concept boasting house-made dough and real-fruit smoothies, finished demolition for its future shop at 111 Stonemont Rd. in River Ranch. This month, the owners have already begun construction.
Additionally, on Sep. 17, Bagels Lafayette announced a partnership with Rosemary Farms in Opelousas, which will be the shop’s egg supplier.
All Day: New Hours and Offerings
In September, All Day Lafayette, the restaurant open every day of the week and serving all three meals of the day, announced new hours:
- 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday-Thursday
- 9 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday
- 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday
- 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday
In addition to new hours, All Day shared that some breakfast/brunch menu items are now available until 3pm during weekdays, beyond its Saturday and Sunday brunch menu. Lastly, a few new items were added to the dinner menu:
- Braised Short Rib & Risotto
- Brick Chicken with Sweet Potato Mash
- Coconut Curry Salmon
In the same post, All Day also announced a new lounge area on its patio.
Antoni’s Italian Café: Eat Fit
Cajun influencer Cory LeDoux, with Eat Fit Ochsner, announced a new Eat Fit partnership with Antoni’s Italian Café. The Eat Fit items include:
- White Bean Hummus
- Pasta Fresca
- Baked Verlasso Salmon
Lou’s Bakery: New Mural
In St. Landry Parish, Lou’s Bakery of Washington has a new mural on the side of the bakery’s builidng. St. Landry Parish Tourism shares that the mural is snapshot of the past depicting Washington’s Main Street. Lou’s Bakery offers snowballs, ice cream, cakes and more.
Supreme Rice: National Rice Month
September was National Rice Month and Supreme Rice, a Louisiana-grown rice harvester, celebrated by giving away some of its rice products, brand merch, a pot and a rice cooker to one lucky winner who was announced on Oct. 1.
Miko’s Donuts: 8th Anniversary
On Sep. 13, Miko’s Donuts celebrated eight years of business with a BOGO coffee event featuring free swag, permanent jewelry, face painting and more.
