DOWNTOWN LAFAYETTE, La. – Downtown Lafayette offers a range of events this month, with three major events happening just this weekend.
Now is the time to soak up the sun, eat crawfish and enjoy music before the summer heat arrives. Enjoy the list of Downtown Lafayette events compiled below with details.
Downtown Lafayette Events in April
April 10: Downtown Alive!
When: Friday, April 10, 6 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Parc Sans Souci, 201 E Vermilion St.
Price: Free
Downtown Alive! featuring BRAZILIANA with Roddie Romero, Andre Michot, Rodrigo Munhoz, Drake Leblanc, Jean Torres, David Crochet and Sami Parbhoo — joined by opening act Amelie Cecile.
Downtown Lafayette and Evangeline Maid merchandise is available for purchase online and during all DTA! events. Proceeds from these merchandise go to Downtown Lafayette to help continue keeping the DTA! tradition alive.
Grab a drink from the COX beverage tent and a bite to eat from food vendors and downtown restaurants. Food trucks include:

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana will offer a traveling educational program that delivers hands-on STEM activities and interactive learning. JAE Events photo booth offers free photos.
April 11: April ArtWalk
When: Saturday, April 11, 5 – 9 p.m.
Where: Downtown Lafayette
Price: Free
Museums, independent galleries, studios, craft stores and art houses of Downtown Lafayette all participate in the monthly showcase of Acadiana’s artistic talent.
ArtWalk takes place every second Saturday of the month, rain or shine. There is no one organization responsible for planning the activities. Instead, each museum, gallery or studio hosts their own unique event, featuring local artists and performers.

April 12: Bach Brunch ft. Certified Blues
When: Sunday, April 12, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Parc Sans Souci, 201 E Vermilion St.
Price: Free
Acadiana’s Bach Lunch comes to Downtown Lafayette with a special Bach Brunch edition. This Sunday gathering brings the same spirit of Bach Lunch to the weekend, inviting families, friends and downtown visitors to enjoy live music, good food and time together in the park.
Food vendors begin serving at 11 a.m., with live music from 12 – 1 p.m. Bring your blankets and chairs so you can enjoy the show picnic-style on the lawn.
To become a food vendor, complete the vendor application form.
April 15: 22nd Annual Rooftop Crawfish Boil
When: Wednesday, April 15, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Parc-Auto Du Centre-Ville, 121 E Vermilion St.
Price: $125 – $1250
This event brings together more than 600 business and community leaders for an evening of food, live music and unbeatable downtown views, all supporting Downtown Lafayette’s work in advocacy, activation and economic development.
The evening’s soundtrack will be provided by Parade Route. From the rooftop, attendees will enjoy a look at the new Children’s Museum mural painted by Dirk Guidry and his team of local artists.
Crawfish will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets include a tray of crawfish with potatoes, corn and dip, along with bottomless water, soda, seltzer and beer.
This year’s event is made possible through the generous support of Kean Miller as Cityscape Sponsors, Jones Walker as Soundtrack Sponsor, The Apothecary Shoppe as Higher Ground Lounge Sponsor, debuting a new gathering space, and Evangeline Maid as Sweet Cake Sponsor.
April 17: Allstars Series, The Arcadian Wild
When: Friday, April 17, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Where: Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion St.
Price: $45 – $75
The Arcadian Wild is a Nashville-based ensemble known for its intricate, heartfelt acoustic sound. The group blends progressive folk, bluegrass and choral harmonies. The group’s latest album is “Welcome,” and members include:
- Isaac Horn (songwriter, guitarist)
- Lincoln Mick (songwriter, mandolinist)
- Bailey Warren (fiddler)
- Erik Coveney (bassist)
April 22-26: Festival International
The Festival International De Louisiana is an annual music and arts festival held in Lafayette, celebrating the French heritage of the region and its connection to the Francophone world. According to Downtown Lafayette, the festival was first held in 1987 and has become very popular, attracting musicians, artists and craftsmen from around the world.

April 25 & 26: “Alice au pays des mémères” Adapted by Kirby Jambon
Where: Cité des Arts, 109 Vine St.
Price: $15
“Alice au pays des mémères” is a Louisiana French and Creole language play inspired by Lewis Caroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and by French Louisiana traditions.
The story is of young Alice, who enters an unusual world from the past where she discovers persons and animals who reflect both Wonderland-like characters and members of her family from generations past, who lead her on a fun, whimsical journey of self-discovery and understanding of her culture.
