LAFAYETTE, La (press release) — Moncus Park will transform into a holiday wonderland for Christmas in the Park, presented by First Horizon Bank, Friday, Dec. 12 – Sunday, Dec. 14.

Supporting year-round operations, maintenance, safety and environmental care of the 100-acre nonprofit greenspace, Christmas in the Park is one of the largest annual fundraisers at Moncus Park.

“Christmas in the Park is a celebration of community,” said JP MacFadyen, executive director of Moncus Park.

Event Details

Event Highlights
• Live music nightly featuring regional favorites
• Photos with Santa
• Free snow sledding down the small hill, sponsored by Our Lady of Lourdes Women & Children’s
Hospital
• Free kids’ activities and festive experiences throughout the park
• Food trucks, sweet treats and warm seasonal beverages
• Light displays, including the fan-favorite Light Tunnel
• A designated sensory zone offering a calmer, low-stimulation area for guests

Entertainment Schedule
• Friday, Dec. 12: That Bad & The Skyliners Big Band Jazz
• Saturday, Dec. 13: Lost Bayou Ramblers with special guests
• Sunday, Dec. 14: “ELF” on the big screen

Parking Information
Free parking is available at Blackham Coliseum (2330 Johnston St., Lafayette, La 70503), with a complimentary and ADA-accessible shuttle provided by Service Chevrolet Cadillac. On-site parking at Moncus Park is available for $20 per vehicle as part of the event fundraiser.

The park strongly advises guests not to park in nearby private lots or businesses, as towing is actively enforced by third-party companies.
