Eating at All Day Lafayette: New Concept, Endless Options

All Day Lafayette is one of Lafayette’s newest restaurants. Though the Acadiana eatery celebrated its soft opening on June 17, the restaurant – and its novel concept – remains fresh, fun and unique.

I enjoyed a taste of All Day’s abundant menu about a month after it opened, and it left me impressed, wanting to try more and wondering why there aren’t more spots like it in the region.

All Day Lafayette: It’s in the Name

What makes All Day so special? For one, it truly is an all-day concept, offering coffee, cocktails, beer, breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the restaurant doesn’t close in between meals. You can get breakfast until 3 p.m. through the Day Menu, and supper begins at 3 p.m. with the Dinner Menu. Saturdays and Sundays add a special brunch menu to the mix, offering treats you won’t find on the weekday Day Menu, like Crab Cake Benedict, Breakfast Enchiladas and Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes. Of course, you can still enjoy the Dinner Menu on the weekend, 3 p.m. until close.

While All Day Lafayette is a convenient (and delicious) haven for any meal or drink of the day, it is also open seven days a week.

All Day, Every Day

How often do you scramble to find somewhere for the family to eat on a Sunday evening? Or struggle to find a more upscale spot for the Monday dinner with friends? Now you can keep All Day on your radar for nearly any occasion, no matter the day of the week.

Its hours are:

• 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday-Thursday
• 9 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday
• 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday
• 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday

Let’s Dig in at All Day Lafayette

It was during one of those odd in-between meal times I found myself at All Day Lafayette: a Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Having heard about the restaurant before, I expected an elevated coffee-shop style experience serving meals throughout the day, but I quickly realized that wasn’t the All Day experience.

All Day offers a more traditional, casual dining experience with bar seating and low and high-top tables, yet elevated by tasteful decor, lighting, layout, ambiance and its culinary offerings.

For the food served at 3:30 p.m., you can go as casual as wings and fries or as high-end as the Ahi tuna appetizer and lobster pasta entree. I opted for more casual.

I started with the honey garlic wings, which were tasty and tender, and completed my meal with the smash burger, which had a great flavor and a delicious dijonaise (Dijon + mayonnaise).

*Tip: Smash Burgers are $9 on Wednesdays, 3-9 p.m.

I paired my meal with the Midnight Mojito: Diplomatico Rum, muddled blueberries and mint, simple syrup, lime juice and a splash of soda water. A fun take on the classic Mojito, the Midnight Mojito was refreshing with a bit more flavor. It’s also reasonably priced at $11. Cocktails at All Day range from $9 to $14.

*Tip: $2 off specialty cocktails Mon-Fri, 3-6 p.m. 

I’d recommend everything that I had, but I have my eyes on several other items, so don’t let me sway you from trying something different. Some other items catching my attention:

• Whipped Ricotta: Ricotta & goat cheese blend, crushed pistachios, hot honey and red pepper flakes, served with toasted bread (Served on Day and Dinner Menus)
• Honey Chicken Biscuit: Fried Chicken, honey butter, honey and egg (Served on Day Menu)
• Spicy Vodka Pasta: Penne noodles, sautéed bacon, spicy vodka sauce and parmesan cheese (Served on Day Menu)
• Pancake Stack: Three pancakes with whipped honey butter & maple syrup, option to add bananas foster or blueberry compote for $2 (Served on Day and Brunch Menus)

Beyond three different, extensive menus collectively covering every day of the week, all day, All Day Lafayette also has daily specials and a happy hour. Here are the details:

Daily Specials –

• Monday: $6 frozen margaritas, all day
• Tuesday: $6 Tito’s and $10 taco plates, all day
• Wednesday: $9 Smash Burgers and $9 Old Fashioneds, 3 p.m. to close
• Thursday: $19 Girl Dinners (Chicken Caesar Wrap or Grilled Avocado Caesar Salad and any martini), 3 p.m. to close
• Saturday and Sunday: $15 bottomless mimosas, 8 a.m. t0 3 p.m.
