“The shows that stay with me the longest are the ones rooted in legacy and lifted by community,” said CeCe Teneal. “This night at Lafon Performing Arts Center is exactly that.”

Contributing to the unique energy of this performance, students from Destrehan and Hahnville High School choirs and show choirs will join CeCe Teneal on stage for a special performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The collaboration showcases the skills these students have learned at the Lafon Performing Arts Center.

“It’s performances like these that turn a spark into a fire for our students,” said Ned Moore, director of the Lafon Performing Arts Center. “Having our local students perform alongside CeCe Teneal’s exceptional talent makes this show particularly meaningful. We cannot wait for our students to experience her powerful voice and learn from a globally recognized artist.”

As part of Lafon’s Main Stage series, Teneal will bring soul to beloved songs from five generations of hits.

The Lafon Performing Arts Center’s main stage series continues this spring with  “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!” and “Everything I Know: Mandy Gonzalez Sings Lin-Manuel Miranda,” which debuted at Carnegie Hall on Nov. 21.
