LAFAYETTE, La – This year marks the 40th Festival International de Louisiane in Downtown Lafayette. From its inception to now, Festival International de Louisiane has grown from a $150,000 budget event with 100,000 attendees to a $2.3 million event with 300,000 attendees.

To honor the festival’s history and culture, Herman Mhire, the founding board president, wrote and edited the 40th anniversary book, which includes never-before-seen images and stories.

Additionally, Francis Pavvy is the selected Official Visual Artist for the 40th Festival International. According to organizers, Pavy is a Lafayette-born visual artist celebrated for his vibrant and evocative paintings that capture the spirit of Cajun culture.

Beyond the art and anniversary book, festival goers can enjoy the 40th Festival International with three different upcoming events.
