Ready to celebrate the holidays? As November ends, a range of holiday events in Lake Charles leads up to December. Enjoy the full guide below on everything holiday-related.

“The Nutcracker” at Lake Area Ballet Theatre 

This season, the Lake Area Ballet Theatre brings back the classic holiday production, “The Nutcracker.” This performance was first staged in Lake Charles in 1963 by Lake Charles Ballet Society under the direction of Mrs. Ida Winter Clarke.

When: Nov. 20 – 22

6 p.m. on Thursday (Sensory Inclusive), 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 & 7 p.m. on Saturday

Jingle and Mingle

Enjoy a delicious dinner served in The Venue. Afterward, the celebration continues as we head across the street to The Deli, where two artists will take the stage at 7 p.m. in a dueling pianos showdown, battling it out with songs requested by you.

Miniature Snow Village Collection

Miniature Snow Village Collection that spans one entire room. Experience a 700-piece collection featuring a skating rink, quaint town squares, festive neighborhoods and ski run on loan from the McNeese Foundation.

When: Nov. 21 – Jan. 3 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays)

Pawliday Extravaganza

Pet-friendly crafts, food trucks, live music and a chili cook-off.

When: Nov. 22 at 12 p.m.

Where: McNeese State University/ Robert Nolan Alumni Pavilion, 4205 Ryan St.

Krew’s Christmas Kids Paint Night

Kids invited to come in their pajamas for a guided “Paint by Instructions” holiday painting inspired by the book “Santa’s Boot: A Louisiana Christmas.” Each regular ticket ($25) includes one guided painting, a copy of Santa’s Boot and pizza during the event. Sibling add-on tickets are available for $18 and include a painting and pizza (must purchase one regular ticket to qualify).

Candy Cane Girls Take Over Frosty Factory

The Candy Cane Girls, cocktails, photo-ops, sing-a-longs and Christmas parties. Don’t miss the giant igloo on select nights.

When: Nov. 26 – Jan. 3, 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays)

Christmas in the Air

Christmas in the Air is a Broadway-style song and dance variety production wrapped up in a warm, fun and feel-good holiday storyline told by two of Santa’s favorite elves.

When: Friday, Nov. 28, at 8:30 p.m. | Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. | Saturday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. | Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m.

Where: Golden Nugget Lake Charles, 2550 Golden Nugget Blvd.

Holiday Art: Clay Keepsakes for the Holiday

Explore a variety of art materials and techniques. Campers will create multiple holiday-themed projects, including a special ceramic keepsake they’ll craft and personalize over both sessions.

When: Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, 9 – 11:30 a.m.

Where: Imperial Calcasieu Museum, 204 W. Sallier St.

Creole Christmas Market

The first 50 paid adult entries will receive swag bags! Children enter for free and $5 admission will be charged at the door. Enjoy live entertainment, food, door prizes and a Christmas Queens pageant.

Holiday Art Walk

The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana announces the return of Holiday Art Walk, the annual open-air art market filled with fun and festivities for the whole family. This year, Holiday Art Walk will be featured in conjunction with the City of Lake Charles’ Light Up the Lake celebration at the Lake Charles Event Center (formerly known as the Civic Center).

When: Nov. 29, 12 – 7 p.m.

Where: Lake Charles Event Center Amphitheater, 1111 Bord du Lac

Light up the Lake Christmas Celebration

This annual event features a variety of holiday activities, including the popular Holiday Art Walk. Visitors can enjoy delicious bites from local food trucks, festive drinks and shop unique handmade arts, crafts and holiday gifts from local artisans.

When: Nov. 29, 2 – 8 p.m.

Christmas Walking Parade

As part of the annual Light up the Lake Christmas Celebration, the city will host a Christmas Walking Parade, featuring festive performances and holiday cheer along a 0.65-mile route on the Lake Charles Lakefront.

Holiday Train Rides

Holiday train rides taking off from Millennium Park every Saturday leading up to Christmas!
