Loft 18’s Midori Transfusion Cocktail Recipe
This cool-and-spicy libation will delight sports fans rallying for season-defining touchdowns and high-stakes playoffs

When the Christmas lights are still twinkling and Twelfth Night rolls in to crown Carnival season, sports fans enjoy that golden overlap of holidays and high-stakes football.
The Midori Transfusion cocktail is festive enough for a holiday toast yet fiery enough for playoff passion. Created at the new Loft18 Sports Bar and Grill in Broussard, it’s the kind of drink that bridges Santa’s sparkle and the Superdome’s roar.
Whether you’re cheering for the Saints, the Tigers or whoever is left standing, this cocktail hits that sweet spot between celebration and competition.
The new cocktail has earned a place in the season’s lineup at Loft18, where football fans toast touchdowns through December and January, culminating with the CFP National Championship (January 19) and Superbowl LX (February 8). The large central bar has a 360-degree TV ring featuring 50 HD TVs, bordered by full golf and multi-sports simulation bays.
“It’s a great place to watch the Saints, LSU and Ragin’ Cajun games,” says bar manager Ken Jones, the former general manager of Lafayette’s Grouse Room. “The Midori Transfusion, created by superb bartender Brynna Hebert, is perfect for cheering on your team here or at home.”
Add 4-5 mint leaves and 1 oz. Midori liqueur to a shaker. Muddle the mint. Add ice, 5 oz. lime, 1 oz. agave, .25 oz. jalapeño simple syrup, .25 oz. watermelon syrup and shake vigorously. Strain into a Tom Collins glass, add ice and top with Owen’s grape Transfusion Mix. Garnish with lime and mint.
