Free Alzheimer’s Caregiver Conference in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La (press release) — The Alzheimer’s Association Louisiana Chapter announced that its free Caregiver Conference, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 7, is rescheduled to Wednesday, March 18.

The Caregiver Conference will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn/Cajundome in Lafayette.

This full-day conference is open to caregivers, families, professionals and community members who support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The conference will feature expert speakers and community leaders sharing practical strategies, clinical updates and supportive resources for those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Free breakfast and lunch will be provided, and attendees will have access to community resource tables throughout the day.

Caregivers are welcome to bring their loved ones living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias.

Two dementia-trained caregivers from Right at Home in Lafayette will be on site throughout the day to provide supervision, lead engaging activities and offer supportive care.

The Alzheimer’s Association Louisiana Chapter offers five local caregiver support groups in the Lafayette area and 23 in-person groups throughout Louisiana, providing ongoing education, connection and emotional support for caregivers and families.
