Oldies But Goodies Fest from West Baton Rouge Tourism Website

September is officially here somehow, and we’re now in that weird limbo period where it doesn’t feel like summer anymore, but the cooler fall weather hasn’t arrived yet.

Whether you’re still holding onto summer or itching for fall festivities, September festivals in Acadiana offer a range of celebrations to keep you busy through the season change, from sugarcane and shrimp to Zydeco and more.

Louisiana Mosquito Festival

International Culture Festival

New Iberia

Harvest on the Teche

This year the Teche Growers Association brings the first Harvest on the Teche, a celebration of South Louisiana with the goal of bringing local farmers, businesses, artisans and community organizations together for food, live entertainment, shopping, agricultural demonstrations and more.

Farm Fest

Farm Fest at Shadows-on-the-Teche offers a variety of live music, old-fashioned carnival games, the Rylan’s Ranch Petting Zoo, balloon artists and more.

Louisiana Sugarcane Festival

According to organizers, the Louisiana Sugarcane Festival was first celebrated in 1937 and later chartered in 1940 with all 24 sugarcane-producing parishes in Louisiana invited. Today, the festival features carnival rides, a pageant, live music, parades and more.

Opelousas

Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival

According to its website, the Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival traces its roots back to a bean field in 1982 when a group of concerned citizens feared Zydeco and Creole music were dying. Today, the fest includes a lineup of music, vendors and special groups, family reunions and trail rides.

Port Allen

Oldies But Goodies Fest
