Did you know that Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana (RMHCSLA) has a location in the Acadiana region? The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital is designed to support families through their child’s medical journey. Located on the first floor of the hospital, the Family Room provides a special place for families to rest and regroup.
Since RMHCSLA’s founding in December 1983, the nonprofit has served more than 40,000 families from Louisiana and across the country. With help from the local community, they help ease the financial and emotional burdens families face as they access critical care for their children. They are a home-away-from-home, offering free accommodations, volunteer-provided meals, family-centered care, and a support system like no other.
In 2024, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital served 162 individuals, 70 children, and 48 families. The average length of stay was 20 nights, enabling these families to practice family-centered care, helping to remove stressors so that families can focus on the most important thing – their child’s care. RMHCSLA does this by providing families with the basic comforts of home, all while being mere steps away from their child receiving treatment.

• Kitchenette stocked with snacks and beverages
