Moncus Park
Where community grows wild: Moncus Park is built, loved, and sustained by the people of Acadiana

Moncus Park is more than a park. It’s a community-powered success story that stretches across 100 acres in the heart of Lafayette. With nearly 10,000 visitors each week, it has become a place where memories are made, kids can explore, and neighbors gather under the shade of live oaks.
Thanks to the people of Acadiana, this nonprofit park has grown into one of the region’s most visited destinations. Together, we’ve created native gardens that bloom with beauty and purpose. We’ve opened up treehouses, trails, and inclusive playgrounds for all ages and abilities. We’ve hosted more than 200 free events and programs each year that bring people together through food, music, movement, and play. And we’ve welcomed dozens of school field trips each season, connecting students to nature, history, and hands-on learning.
It doesn’t happen by chance. Every inch of progress is made possible by people who believe in something greater — a shared space that reflects the culture, resilience, and generosity of our region.
Moncus Park thrives because you show up. You give. You care. And you’ve built something Acadiana can be proud of.
