La Danse de Mardi Gras Feb. 4

LAFAYETTE, La (press release) –Join Acadiana Center for the Arts for a country dance at AcA celebrating the rural traditions of Mardi Gras in the big city.
Presentation and performance on Creole Mardi Gras traditions with American Routes Host Nick Spitzer, will begin the evening (6 pm) with a lecture on country Mardi Gras celebrations. Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys will take the stage and perform traditional Mardi Gras songs and will be joined by Cedric Watson and Jeffery Broussard, who will help introduce street-style performances by McComb-Veazy’s 12th Street Black Mardi Gras Indians, a courir de mardi gras, and a second line from Soul Express marching band.
Doors open at 5 p.m.!
