Junior League of Lafayette Awarded $18,000 in Grants to Local Nonprofits

LAFAYETTE, La (press release) – In October, Junior League of Lafayette’s Collaborative Opportunity Grants Committee awarded its 2024-2025 grants, which consist of volunteer support hours as well as financial contributions, to local nonprofit organizations.

A total of $18,000 in grants were awarded to nine local nonprofit organizations during the League’s General Membership Meeting at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette.

Ayesha K. Martin, President of Junior League of Lafayette, expressed her enthusiasm about the impact of these grants. “Our commitment to the Lafayette community is at the core of everything we do,” said Martin. “We are proud to support the important work of these organizations, which play a vital role in addressing pressing community challenges. The grants we provide not only fund key initiatives but also strengthen partnerships that foster growth and progress throughout Acadiana.”

Annual grants are funded through Junior League of Lafayette fundraising efforts such as Tinsel & Treasures, Touch-a -Truck, Little Black Dress Initiative, sales from the League’s four Member-written cookbooks, and community program sponsorships.

The 2024-2025 grant recipients are:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana – Stocking of Care Closets ($2,000)

Bridge Ministry of Acadiana – Autumn at the Bridge ($2,000)

Catholic Charities of Acadiana – Homeless to Housewarmed ($2,000)

Girl Scouts Pines to the Gulf – The Girl Scout Cookie Rally ($2,000)

Holy Family Catholic School – “AR Store” ($2,000)

Hospice of Acadiana Foundation, Inc. – Food with Love ($2,000)

Mable’s Table – Emergency Food Kits ($2,000)

Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana – Sow to Grow: Gardening and

Nutrition Education Program for Children ($2,000)

The Thensted Center – Grieving Through the Holidays ($2,000)
