Dr. Albert Gutierrez continues to be a beloved Board Certified Pediatric Cardiologist in Acadiana since his arrival in 1998. During his 24 years in Louisiana, he has treated children seriously affected by heart disease, specializing in advanced cardiac imaging, cardiac critical care, heart rhythm disorders, and congenital heart disease. His practice has cared for over 85,000 patients from across the state with 3,300 patients having undergone cardiac surgical repair.

Dr. Gutierrez is actively involved in teaching medical students, nurses, and medical residents. He holds adjunct academic positions at Tulane School of Medicine and LSU. He volunteers his time by serving on the boards of several nonprofit organizations involved with children in addition to serving as medical consultant /physician for Camp Bon Coeur. Professionally, he has served as Director of Pediatric Outreach for Tulane School of Medicine in Acadiana, Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at LGMC, and Vice Chairman of Department of Pediatrics at Women & Children’s Hospital.
