Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana Honored with Three National Awards at 2025 “Power of We” Conference

LAFAYETTE, La (press release) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana announced three prestigious national honors received during the 2025 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America “Power of We” National Conference held in Philadelphia last month.

The agency was named Small/Mid-Size Agency of the Year, recognizing excellence in program impact, community engagement, and youth outcomes. In addition, CEO Kalli Christwas presented with the Robert “Skip” Walsh Award, which honors a BBBS professional who exemplifies visionary leadership, dedication, enthusiasm, and generosity—all qualities that Skip so fully embodied. And lastly, the agency was a Growth Award Winner for program excellence in 2024. Every year, the BBBSA Nationwide Leadership Council, made up of local agency leaders and board members, selects agencies for excellence in the organization’s signature 1-to-1 youth mentoring program. Out of more than 230 agencies across the country, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana is one of 40 organizations to receive this top honor.

The Power of We Conference brought together agencies from across the country for a week of meaningful conversations, inspiring panels—including one featuring CEO Kalli Christ herself—and innovative learning sessions designed to elevate the future of mentorship.
